Validation
ShipEasy Platinum Web validates all shipments against regulations for shipping hazardous materials using XCE Hazmat Compliance Engine. When a hazardous material is added to the package XCE will check for compliance before allowing the user to complete the package. ShipEasy Platinum Web will prompt the user to enter the necessary information to make the package fully compliant based on the checking performed by XCE.
NOTE: These examples are only some of the checks performed, not all are listed here. This should give you a very good understanding of what to expect and help you in making the critical decisions you need to ship your packages according to regulations.
The example screen-shot below show some of the checks that the compliance engine performs.
XCE begins checking for compliance from the moment you begin to search for a specific hazardous material.
When you search for a chemical if the chemical is Forbidden in the Type of Service that you selected the Add link will be replaced with the word Forbidden as shown below.

If the specific hazardous material is not accepted by the carrier the screen will display the information as seen below.

If the hazardous material can be shipped under a Special Provision the scree will display the information as shown below.

Labels Required: If you are unsure of which Hazmat Label or Placard to use you can click on the Hazard Class number on the search results list to display the label for the hazardous materials class.
See below example for hazard class 8 Corrosive

You can also get information of the danger associated with each packing group by clicking the packing group Roman numeral listed on the search results as shown below.
SEGREGATION: If a materials can be shipped together but the regulation requires that it be separated XCE will warn you with this message

SEGREGATION: If a materials CANNOT be shipped together XCE will warn you with this message

sEpw will display quantity limitations and packing instructions in the compliance box, see below

Another example below shows that if the user is shipping an N.O.S. hazardous material a message will be displayed if the Technical Name is not entered. See below.

or if it needs an Exemption or Special Permit you will be prompted by the message below.

Carrier variations: Sometimes carrier place specific restrictions or variations. The example below shows a FedEx specific requirement to separately enter the DG Concentration.

If you do enter the concentration a message will appear as shown below.

These are just some of the many warnings and checks that XCE performs.
NOTE: Per domestic and international regulations, it is the shipper (not ShipEasy Platinum Web or Hazmat Software LLC) that is FULLY responsible for making sure that the package offered for transportation is compliant with all applicable regulations.
• ShipEasy Platinum Web validates ALL the hazardous materials data against the appropriate DOT or IATA regulations.
• In cases where a carrier (i.e. UPS or FedEx) has more stringent restrictions on a material, ShipEasy Platinum Web will validate against those additional carrier restrictions or variations.
• If DOT or IATA regulations are more restrictive than carrier restrictions, those regulations will override any carrier variations.
You will not be able to complete the package unless it has passed all the compliance checks
